The Women’s World Cup kicks off on the 7th June and this month all of the nations competing have launched their kit designs for the championship.

As we discussed in our previous blog, England women’s team have had their own unique design made for the upcoming tournament and it would seem that many of their opponents have followed suit.

Here at Pioneer sports, we’ve ranked our top three favourite women’s kit for the pending World Cup.

Number 3- Jamaica

The playing kit which Umbro have designed for Jamaica is certainly a head turner. The home kit incorporates the colours of the Jamaican flag with a simple design, this is proof that sometimes less is more. The all black away strip is just as, if not more, impressive; intertwining the teams logo once again using the colours of the Jamaican flag.  As the first Caribbean team to qualify for a women’s football World Cup, they’ll be out to show the World what we’ve been missing.

Number 2- Germany

With a nod towards the Germany kit worn at the 1989 and 1991 Women’s European competitions. Germany’s retro designed kit mixes the nostalgic element intended with a style we have become accustomed to seeing in the modern day playing kits. They’ll be hoping that this updated design will be as successful as the one it was based upon; when Germany won back to back titles in the aforementioned tournaments.

Number 1- China

China have set the standard for any future kit designs!! The away kit which Nike has designed is set out to symbolise the rebirth of this great nation’s triumphs of 20 years ago when they dominated the women’s game. The Phoenix which is subtly designed via sublimation into the background of the shirt is there to portray femininity and virtue, a classy statement to go along with their classy kit.

Honouree mention to Scotland Women’s team who will be representing in their traditional dark blue home shirt and a pink, textured away shirt. Where the kit design isn’t a stand out compared to the others on show, seeing Scotland at a World Cup is unique, however with their recent friendly win over Brazil don’t write them off just yet!
